Backlight

One simple technique photographers can use to enhance their images is to make the best use of light shining though translucent images, such as shown here - you just have to be lucky enough to find the right light. Not surprisingly, the early-morning hours afford such opportunities more so than at any other time of day. I am always glad to head out to Mahone Bay to do desk duty as I often find the good light.....D80 and 70-300mm VR.

The best light is often when there is hardly any light

This time of year affords us many opportunities to shoot as the days are long - quite a sharp contrast to that which is allotted to us in the dead of winter when it's dark at 5pm. I was able to just get back to New Germany as the light started to fade, but had enough to work with my two VR zooms as the sky started to change and work its magic; I still was able to use ISO 100 for these files.

The warmth was due to my PP, I give Nikon no credit for theses colors=)
