Winter wonderland

Despite the bitter cold that one usually finds in mid-January, this time of year is often one of my favorite times to shoot. The sun is up around 8am which is very reasonable to capture early-morning rays. Couple that with fresh snow that just hangs on the trees, and you get the ideal scenario for winter photographs. I am still struggling witgh a way to keep my fingers warm for extended periods of time, my handy Lowepro shooting gloves are great but offer little protection against -15 degree temperatures.....Bridgewater has a ton of areas that lend themselves to sweet imagery. D60 and 16-85mm VR zoom.

Queens County scenics

I always enjoy traveling to another par ft of Nova Scotia, even if I frequent there a fair amount - the landscape changes constantly, the light is never the same, twice, and sometimes I have different gear to record images. On the fourth day of this brand-new year, my hot spots were the Hunts Point and Moose Harbour government wharves - my trusty D50's color palette is just ideal and the Nikon 12-24mm is the best lens for shooting wide vistas especially at low tide.

Of course, it was very windy and cold, I was grateful to have my LowePro shooting gloves with me.

Hope you enjoy them!
