Sheer magic at Peggy's Cove

Once in a while, it all comes together for my images. I woke up in the middle of the night on Sunday and made the decision to head out for Peggy's Cove, as it seemed the sky would be clear but some fog might be mixed it, which is what I was wanting. So, I arrived around 5:30am and waited for my moment - and voila! I had my big Domke F-1 bag so all my Nikon lenses were with me. The D80 was the perfect tool due to its on-demand grid lines and electronic release. The secret to this is simple - ideal light. The rest was simply timing and framing.

More waterscapes

As is usually the case, it gets dry every summer despite the heavy rains of spring. We had a good soaking during the last 24 hours and the Carding Mills falls now have some water flowing - I took advantage of that rare event, this morning, using the erstwhile D80 and 70-300mm VR. Blasted sensor debris, it only shows up at f/22 or smaller....Thank goodness for software!
