The best part of the day affords the best light and luck

I had this idea last night as I was trying to go to sleep that an early-morning scoot to Blue Rocks was what I needed to do. We are now between seasons and there is far too much drab subject matter, so the challenge is to find a diamond in the rough. I had not done too much serious shooting for a few weeks, it's time to move on to spring.

My persistence was rewarded - the tide was low - that was a bonus. The soft overcast light was ideal for the range of tones and subtle colors. My uber-fun Nikon 12-24mm is used for both work and play, and the IQ is never an issue.
