The amazing Nikon D50 and fall colors

I have had my "new" D50 for almost two weeks, it has been a very pleasant ownership experience so far. I have yet to use it for its original intent, that is to shoot some real estate listings, but my time will come. The colors from the old horse seem to be perfect, very little if any PP is done with the RAW files.

I had my usual desk duty shift in Mahone Bay, this morning, I wanted to capture the brilliance of what the town offers in the autumn season. I know there is the ongoing scarecrow festival for the month of October plus lots of other displays - despite the frigid temperature and wind (is winter really that far away?), I happily nailed these captures using the 16-85mm VR. It's just too bad the D50 cannot use a larger-capacity SD card, it is limited to only 2GB. Oh well.
